That's brilliant. I'm delighted for you and hopefully it'll throw some more work yr way.

BTW - the hyperlink for page 3 on Jakerock needs to be fixed. (I found the page by modifying the link for page 2).

I was highly impressed with many aspects of the record. On the recording/mixing front - I loved the the dynamic in 'I'm going away' between verse and chorus. It starts with the fat muddy bass up front, but the switch to chorus, with the drummer moving to cymbals and the piano coming in, it really seperates it soundwise. I was cycling my bike when I heard it and it really struck me. I stopped and rewound it ;-)
I also loved the cleanliness of the piano on the Drive to Dallas. Nicely understated reverb.

Tipping my hat to you Jaker.

From a review of the new FF album at http://dustedmagazine.com/reviews/5125

"I’m Going Away is striking for its group sound; the Furnaces play with more air around them, more flexibility and interaction. (If their concept-driven records suffer for anything, it’s the occasional woodenness of their playing.)"
